Refugee Week Festival – MAC, Cannon Hill Park

This year’s Festival will be at the MAC in Cannon Hill Park from 12noon to 5.30pm.  It is a free family event with live music, workshops (drumming, arts and crafts), face painting, stalls and activities. There will be performances from: Afromanding, Cessie Djamba (Khalifa Conte – Master Drummer from Senegal, Nicky Reed – Tewahedo, Ian Parmel – ACE Dance & Music, Mark Robertson ( Birmingham Afro-Bloc), Hassan Salih Nour , Germa Adan, Afro Mio, Daholl Kurdish Band, Nifeco Costa & Babock Djazz and The Redeemed. We will also be joined by young people from The Bosnian Dance Group, The Congolese Youth Music Group and MMM (Multi-Cultural Music Making) Group.

Refugee groups and organisations will have stalls at the event to promote their activities, raise awareness and interact with the public.
