You may remember the 2.6 challenge organised last year to replace events like the London Marathon and provide fundraising opportunities for charities of all sizes – to refresh your memory, watch below to see what our Restore Manager, Jeremy Thompson, and his family did for 26 minutes each.
This year, the London Marathon has teamed up with the Captain Tom Foundation and created the Captain Tom 100 Challenge to mark what would have been his 101st birthday on 30 April and build on his amazing legacy. They want as many charities as possible to be involved.
One of the aims of the Captain Tom Foundation is to combat loneliness which resonates with Restore’s relational work with refugees and asylum seekers.
Between Friday 30 April and Monday 3 May everyone is invited to participate in the 100 challenge. All you have to do is choose an activity involving the number 100.
The choice is yours. If you would like to be involved and raise sponsorship for Restore then its easy to set up a fundraising page by clicking here, and we’ll be happy to promote your plans via Restore’s social media.
The Restore staff team – Catherine, Josh, Andy and Jeremy – will be ‘Singing for Sanctuary’. They plan to sing together (but socially distanced and outside) for 100 minutes on Friday 30 April. If you would like to sponsor us, please click on any of the following links:
Last year, several Restore supporters embarked on 2.6 challenges, many of you sponsored them and together we raised over £4,000 for Restore. Let’s see if, together, we can reach £5,000 in 2021. There’s the challenge…..now it’s over to you!
