Restore Summer Training Course 2025

Restore is motivating for action with our next training course for those interested in befriending or wanting to learn more about refugee issues.  We’re very excited to announce the dates for our next training session, which will take place on:

Saturday 7th June 2025

9:45-4pm

The training day will take place at St John’s Church, Harborne, B17 0ED. To book your place please click here

Places must be booked in order to attend, so please make sure you register at the link.

All three sessions of the training course are different, and we require that anybody who is interested in becoming a befriender attend all three.  An outline of what is included in each session is:

Week 1: Global refugee issues, overview of situation in the UK, introduction to Restore and befriending including input from a volunteer befriender

Week 2: An overview of the asylum application process and introduction to refugee resettlement, including a refugee sharing about their experience of the asylum process

Week 3: Practicalities of befriending: guidelines, boundaries, safeguarding, support, contact with and feedback to Restore and how to apply

Please share this information with anybody you think might be interested in becoming a befriender, or finding out more about refugee issues.

We will also be sharing more information on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, so if you follow us on social media, you can share our posts too.

For more information about the training course, please email us.
