As part of the Together with Refugees’ Fair Begins Here campaign, people from all over the UK came together on social media to share their love with refugees and people seeking asylum.
In December 2023, Together with Refugees released an open letter that states:
“Britain’s refugee system has become ever-more uncaring, chaotic and costly. These policies aren’t working for refugees, and they aren’t working for local communities. That’s why we have come together to say we’ve had enough. And it’s why we now call for something better.”
The campaign calls on the next UK government to commit to a fairer plan for refugees. There are specific calls for protection for people fleeing war and persecution, scrapping the Rwanda scheme and the chance to rebuild their lives.
In solidarity with this campaign, Restore staff and staff from other organisations in the Jericho building came together to write messages of love and solidarity with people seeking sanctuary on Valentine’s Day.

Here are some of the lovely messages we shared with migrants and people seeking sanctuary:
“May your life blossom and bloom here”
“Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here”
“You are loved”
